Extracurricular Programs

Acceptance Club

To provide an inclusive, respectful, and safe space for LGBTQ+ students and allies of the community to express their identity with their peers.

African American Student Council

The African American Student Council (AASC) is a student-led organization dedicated to providing a voice for all students at VBHS. The AASC seeks to provide an inclusive school culture that will enrich the experience of students on our campus.

Air Force JROTC program

A citizenship program that is designed to educate and train high school cadets in citizenship, promote community service, instill personal responsibility, character, and self-discipline. The program achieves this through classroom education in air and space fundamentals and hands-on learning opportunities in a number of fun and challenging extra-curricular activities.

Animal Rescue Club

The goal of Animal Rescue Club (AKA ARC) is to spread out in our community and do our part to help the various shelters and rescue organizations around Vero. We will hear and participate in many volunteering opportunities to do our part.

Arrowhead/Yearbook

Express creativity to contribute to the yearbook to share and spotlight different happenings throughout the school year. Yearbook members have the opportunity to sell yearbooks, design pages, photograph, promote, and distribute the yearbook.

Baile Fuego

To have fun and learn how to dance.

Campus Life

Combines healthy relationships and creative programing to help young people make good choices, establish a solid foundation for life, and positively impact their schools.

Chieftain

The Chieftain Club is responsible for monthly newsletters and the end of the year Senior Reflections. The monthly newsletters are all researched and edited by the students and the editors. The Senior Reflections is a 40 page publication for seniors to have as a keepsake for their special year. The Chieftain Club gives students a real world/job application in the whole design process from creating and formulating an idea or design to being published. The club operates and simulates a job or career in design.

Chick-Fil-A Leader Academy

We equip students with tangible tools for their leadership journey. Ideas demand action, and we know our students have the ability to change the world. Our approach helps put students’ ideas into practice to positively impact their local communities.

D.A.R.E./S.A.D.D

Promote better decisions and a proactive lifestyle.

Dance Marathon

Affiliated with Shands Children's Hospital at the University of Florida, Dance Marathon is a club that raises funds for the treatment of serious childhood diseases while providing members an opportunity to earn valuable life experience and community service hours.

Drama Club

Offers all students interested in theater, whether taking a class of theater or not, the opportunity to get involved in school events such as homecoming activities, as well as all aspects of theater like back stage technically, ushering, ticket taking, building sets and performing in shows. They also receive community service hours for their time volunteered as well as awarded possible awards at the end of the year at the awards ceremonies.

Dungeons and Dragons Club

To teach students to use creative thinking to solve problems and be able to work well with others.

Elite Indians

The objective is to help students become more confident, enjoy entertaining, and to work together as a team.

Empowerment Club

To empower individuals with financial management, work experience, and tools necessary for life.

First Priority

The mission of First Priority is to reach every student with the Hope of Christ.

Florida Future Educators of America

To provide a safe place for girls to show their athletic skills as individuals, and teach work ethic, mental toughness and character.

Green Team (Environmental Club)

The Environmental Club focuses on projects that increase our local sustainability, such as recycling, gardening, composting, beach cleanups, and our new program which focuses on raising coastal plants that will eventually be planted out in the Indian River Lagoon.

H.O.S.A. (Health Occupations Students of America) 

Develop leadership and technical HOSA skill competencies through a program of motivation, awareness, and recognition.

HOPE 

To spread the message that you are never alone and to have HOPE in the fact that it is okay to not be okay.#mentalhealthawareness

Inclusion Club

To increase student awareness of career opportunities within our local community. To help students access local job opportunities. To help students develop and apply employability and leadership skills such as teamwork, timeliness, goal-setting, task completion and self-advocacy skills.

International Club

VBHS International Club is a club aimed to celebrate inter-cultural diversity and promote cultural acceptance to all students willing to learn and have fun. Our goal is to encourage our peers to diversify their narratives and explore various cultures from all around the globe. Club activities include foreign food tastings, learning international songs, watching foreign films, and exploring different customs and traditions. Students of all nationalities are encouraged to join.

Jam Club

In Jam Club students come together to play music in an informal environment. Musicians of all skill levels playing any instrument are encouraged to join. Jam Club's mission is to provide an environment where students may learn, collaborate, and perform any type of music with like-minded musicians in a laid-back setting. 

Key Club

Help Community: Food Drive, Youth in Action, Animal Drives, Woman Drives, Veteran Family Drives.

Kickball Club

An organization where the members come together in a safe and fun environment.

Little Indians Lacrosse

We want to dedicate our time to start involving little kids in Lacrosse and introduce them to the sport. Vero Beach Girls Lacrosse was established 20 years ago.

Masterminds

The VBHS Masterminds team is our school’s Academic Competition Team. The team is open to all VBHS students. Team members are quizzed on abroad range of academic topics, from foreign language to music theory, from physics to political science, etc. If you like trivia or if you have an area of academic expertise then this is probably the team for you. 

Math Team/Math Competition

Participants compete both individually and in teams. The team attends regional competitions to compete against other high schools in higher level math.

Model United Nations

To teach students the valuable skills of debate and compromise to master the art behind conflict resolution and negotiation and speak on relevant global issues, while representing countries in the Model United Nations.

National Honor Society

The National Honor Society (NHS) elevates a school’s commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. These four pillars have been associated with membership in the organization since its inception in 1921.

Photography Club 

To allow students to express the things they love, using photography. To make photography an outlet for students to be able to express their emotions. To make photography accessible to everyone.

Red Kettle Club (Student Arm of Salvation Army)

To help further the mission of the Salvation Army and raise money to offer assistance to families facing hardships, organize fundraisers, and volunteer for the good of our community.

SAFIR/SWAT (Substance Abuse Free Indian River)

To grow a group of dedicated and motivated teens to educate the community, including their schools, on the effects of all substances use by planning events, providing information conducting advocacy and creating social norms campaigns.

Science Research

The Science Research club is for those students are interested in conducting experiments they design, to learn more about the world around us.

Stomp & Shake

School dance team, dedicated to providing energy and spirit during basketball games and other events.

Student Government Association (SGA)

Interested in becoming a class officer or Student Government representative? SGA supports different events and activities on campus to engage the student body in school-spirit events to support the school and community.

Table Tennis

The Table Tennis Club will be inclusive to all students and all ability levels. The club will participate in tournaments with other high schools, practice on a weekly basis, and participate in league events.

TED-ED Student talks

The purpose of introducing TED-Ed to the VBHS community is to improve public speaking skills. In this club, students will learn to effectively and impressionably present ideas and information, and to build confidence in one’s presentation skills.  During the course of our TED-Ed cycle, we aim to have each student fully research an idea that he or she is passionate about. Additionally, at the end of our TED cycle, each club member would have recorded and uploaded a TED-style Talk to the TED-Ed Student Talks YouTube channel.

Wheels for Charity

Raise money for charities with sponsorships and biking events/races that would be organized at meetings.

Young Writers Club

To create a safe place for young writers to discuss their ideas, share their stories and characters, and find others with common interests. 

Youth Vote Initiative Club

Host registration events on campus and encourage civic enthusiasm as a means of increasing youth voter turnout at both local and national elections.
