We now have tutoring opportunities for every core subject area and for SAT Prep, Peer Tutoring, Spanish, as well as opportunity to meet with a school Counselor Wednesday evenings. Our main campus media center library will now have “open study evenings” each Wednesday from 5-7PM. Also, we have school bus transportation home after tutoring on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays with buses departing at 4PM. Visit our website for more information.

Cap & Gown Distribution April 16 & 17

Jostens will distribute graduation caps and gowns to seniors/class of 2020 who purchased them already, next week on Thursday April 16th and Friday April 17th. You can still order caps and gowns by calling Jostens at 321-242-2055. Don’t delay. It will be a no contact and therefore safe distribution whereby you will stay inside your car during the pick-up process. Enter the parking lot at the PAC and turn right to head towards the from office where distribution will occur, in front of the office. Distribution days are set by alpha, and hours will by 4-7PM. Thursday April 16 last names A-L pick up 4-7PM Friday April 17th last names M-Z pick up 4-7PM

Class of 2020 Graduation Information

The 2020 Graduation Ceremony for Vero Beach High School will be postponed due to the current situation related to COVID-19. We feel that it is extremely important to celebrate the accomplishments of our Class of 2020 Seniors, while also ensuring that the safety and well-being of our school community members. As a result, we are tentatively scheduling the 2020 graduation ceremony for June 12, 2020, given that guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) indicates that such a gathering will be safe for our students, parents, staff, and community. If the June date is not allowable, per CDC and state guidelines, we also have set the date of July 10 as a secondary, tentative date. A decision to hold the ceremony for the tentative, June 12 date will be made no later than May 29, 2020 to provide high school seniors and their families sufficient opportunity make appropriate plans and arrangements. The graduation ceremony will be held at the school’s football stadium as originally planned. However, there is a possibility of a limitation on the number of guests that can be in attendance at the ceremony for each senior, due to possible, future social distancing guidelines. Vero Beach High School will be hosting drive through cap and gown distributions at the Vero Beach High School parking lot with date and times to be announced soon. At the Indian River Regional Science & Engineering Fair Awards Ceremony, all Vero Beach High School students came home with awards. Isaac Hunter won first place in the Intelligent Machines category. Jade Butler & Jillie Sweetland won 2nd place in the Earth & Environmental Science category. The team also won the NOAA ‘Taking the Pulse of the Planet’ award.

Congratulations, to Griffin Wagner, senior at Vero Beach High School. Griffin has been named a top 300 scholar in the 79th Regeneron Science Talent Search, the nation’s oldest and most prestigious science and mathematics competition for high school seniors, and honored as a U.S. Presidential Scholar. Griffin will receive $2,000, and VBHS will also receive $2,000, to use toward STEM-related activities. Griffin’s Biotechnology teacher, Mr. Jeff Bush, was recognized as a “Teacher of Merit” for being the sponsoring teacher Griffin’s project.

In efforts to enhance security, the School District of Indian River County will begin construction on a single point entry lobby at the front of the Freshman Learning Center on Monday February 25th. During construction, the front parking lot, main entrance, and the font office off of 19th street will be closed. We will be setting up a temporary Main Office next to the parent loop off of 14th Ave.

"C2G" Pep Rally at Vero Beach High School

As part of our continued VBHS C2G (Commitment to Graduate) campaign, we brought in Clint Pulver, who is a global motivational speaker. We scheduled Clint to take part in our first ever C2G Pep Rally. Clint has appeared on "America's Got Talent," and performed with stars like Carrie Underwood.
