VBHS and UCF Band Concert

Vero Beach High School is welcoming one of the nation’s top collegiate jazz ensembles for an unforgettable evening of music and collaboration. This Saturday, February 7, VBHS will host the University of Central Florida Flying Horse Big Band at 6:30 PM in the VBHS Performing Arts Center.

This performance offers a unique opportunity for local high school jazz students to learn from and perform alongside elite collegiate musicians. The VBHS Jazz Band will open the concert at 6:30 PM, followed by a featured performance from Dr. Jeff Rupert and the UCF Flying Horse Big Band.

The concert is sponsored by the Treasure Coast Jazz Society. Students will receive free admission with a valid student ID, and tickets for the general public may be purchased through www.tcjazz.org.

The UCF Flying Horse Big Band has earned national and international recognition, with performances in Montreux, the Netherlands, and at festivals across the United States, including a recent appearance at Lincoln Center. Their recordings have climbed the National Jazz Charts multiple times, breaking into the top 50 on several occasions, with two albums reaching the number one position.

This special concert highlights the power of arts partnerships and the value of connecting students with professional-level performance experiences. The collaboration between VBHS and the University of Central Florida reflects a shared commitment to excellence in music education and to inspiring the next generation of musicians.
